Great Waltham Walks & Route Maps

Did this small walk after the longer 6 mile walk, really to see the deer, unfortunately there were no deer. If you have any mobility issues dont do this walk as there are 2 stiles which are difficult to get over.

The styles were dangerous to get over.

Walk takes you past Langleys House and through old deer park. It suggests following footpath through field of cows. You can avoid the cows by taking a slightly alternative route.

Loved the walk. A tricky hidden part of the route that made us miss the route and had to back track. No dog poo bins on the route until you get back to the start. Very flat and enjoyable. Would definitely go again

Great walk today , yes it was muddy on places as expected this time of year . We didnt try the pub so can't comment on that. The Stores tea rooms also looks nice would be tempted to try that another time . Thanks Essex Walks another enjoyable walk in the county.

A lovely, peaceful walk through farmland and the deer park of Chatham Hall. However, as the paths are a bit overgrown in some places, you will need to keep your wits about you when following the route, as the turnoffs are hidden in the hedges.
