Little Eaton Walks & Route Maps

Little Eaton is a village surrounded by beautiful countryside and situated between the River Derwent and Bottle Brook, four miles north of Derby. It has a strong community spirit with a wonderful area of green - St Peter's Park which is overlooked by the church of St Paul's. Every summer the village hosts what is considered by many to be ‘one of the best carnivals in Derbyshire.'

The 4 mile walk starts from the village and travels mainly along established paths. There is one quite steep short climb and a few ups and downs and the route may be muddy muddy at times.

This is an enjoyable longer walk from the village of Little Eaton giving you some wonderful views as you travel through open country and quiet woodland.

There is some walking along quiet roads and you do have to cross the main A38 a couple of times so care is needed.

There are also some quite challenging steps to navigate at Duffield Bridge and three short but quite steep hills to climb and descend.

It may get quite muddy and slippery under foot after rain and you will also be walking close to the golf course so beware of potential flying balls.

There is a pub, teashop and shops in the village.
