Biddestone Walk & Route Map

Enjoyable, but route goes through several crop fields and parts, especially by the wooded bit are very overgrown, lots of stinging nettles and escaped cows made the middle bit of the walk a tad challenging!

Lovely long walk, some bits are on the road, no sidewalks, bit uncomfortable. White heart in Ford is great for refreshments.

We did the stretch from Slaughterford to Ford. Footpath closed at Rag Mill, so carried on up the hill to the right, and on the next corner after the red phonebox was a farm gate. Cross a couple of fields and drops down to the river. Then you are back on the route. Several stiles, dogs got under ok. Bit muddy in a couple of places. No cattle along route on this day. Plenty of seating at the white horse for refreshments.

Part of the path from Ford that criss crosses the stream was closed with unclear directions. Some of the stiles were difficult with the dogs. Pitcuresque and enjoyable walk with some steep climbs. There is a fair amount of road walking, although quiet, at times it was stressful trying to keep the dogs and young children safe.

At fhe time we went one of the paths over the ford was completly closed due to subsiding. It was a beautiful walk though!

Lovely walk with spectacular views. A very interesting and picturesque stretch by the remains of the ancient ragmill and on to the river and weir, we also enjoyed looking around the small church. Great for dogs, just one field with too many cows in but easily bypassed!

Very enjoyable walk beautiful views and river walks. Stopped for lunch at White Hart in Ford half way round. Ended up doing 8 miles in the end as we did Weavern Lane back to Biddestone instead of road walk. Make sure you wear walking boots and dont mind hills.

Absolutely fantastic route!! Only thing i would comment on is the first field you walk through has just been ploughed so it is very uneven and hard to walk on. Then in the second field the path through is VERY overgrown!! You can find your way through if you look out for sign posts on the stills to be sure your going in the right direction! Also make sure your wearing long bottoms as the path through the second field is full of thorns so can be rather prickly! Once through both these fields the walk is breathtaking in some places! I will definitely be back to do this walk again!

A great walk but be aware of a few overgrown or ploughed fields where paths not evident. Also some road walking, although on quiet roads so not a problem.
