Bradford on Avon Walks & Route Maps

This is a simple town walk around the historic and beautiful town of Bradford on Avon that is popular with tourists due to it's historic buildings, canal, river, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Bradford-on-Avon has a long and layered history shaped by its river crossing and hillside setting. The town grew around a Saxon ford on the River Avon, and its jewel is the remarkable Saxon Church of St Laurence, built in the late 10th century and still standing almost unchanged.

This second route is a simple easy-access river & canal walk around the Barton Farm Country park which sits in the pretty town of Bradford on Avon.

It also takes you on the short loop around the pretty town of Bradford on Avon itself where you'll find plenty of refreshment options.

The Little Barn Cafe, Bradford-on-Avon

This final route option is an extended version of the River and Canal walk around Bradford on Avon that takes you further along the beautiful canal, and visits the Avoncliff Aqueduct where you'll find a wonderful waterside pub.

Please note: there is a little steep section of path half way around the route that might not be suitable for some walkers. If you do not want to tackle this, you can simply retrace your steps alongside the canal instead.
