Knepp Estate Walks & Route Maps

This first short route is the official 'Yellow Walk' provided by the Knepp Estate.

The Knepp Estate was once intensively farmed, but now it is devoted to a wonderful rewilding project that's full of wildlife including grazing animals and free-roaming herbivores.

If you enjoy birds, then you could also spot nightingdales, turtle doves, peregrin falcons, ravens, red kites, sparrow hawks, lesser-spotted woodpackers, skylarks, house sparrows and yellowhammers.

Look out for volunteer rangers in purple vests as they can answer any questions you have about the estate and wildlife there.

This second slightly longer route is the official 'Orange Walk' provided by the Knepp Estate.

After a short walk along the country lane, this route takes you on a nice loop of walking that takes you through open countryside and visits the remains of the medieval Knepp Castle that was built in the 12th century.

This third and longest route option is the official 'Red Walk' provided by the Knepp Estate.

This long route is the choice for you if you want to fully explore the wonderful Knepp Estate. It takes you on a beautiful adventure through fields and woodlands as well as past the Kneppmill pond. You should be able to enjoy all of the wildlife that the estate has to offer on this route.

We have also marked a couple of optional detours on the map. One that take you to the Knepp Castle, and another that takes you to a lovely pub for a half way pitstop if you require although there will be a kitchen opening on the estate itself in the Summer of 2023.
