Buxted Park Walk & Route Map

This is a beautiful and very varied walk with heathland, open spaces, lakes and woodland. It could be cut short if you turn right up the hill before the woods. This would avoid a more strenuous route through the woods that is quite challenging with lots of steps, steep slopes and roots to navigate. It was dry under foot, but in the winter it would be a complete mudfest. The last path was quite narrow, but could be avoided by taking the tarmac path up to the Buxted Park Hotel. I don’t know whether it is open to non-residents, but there is a local farm shop/cafe in Buxted.

Great 2 mike walk and really enjoyable. Didnt see any loos or a cafe on the route other than Buxted Hall Hotel (guess that’s only for residents) though. Had some uneven ground, and slopes but there are some levelish parts too. I did think there were lots of other routes you could go off walking in the woods etc and bumped into other people doing that. I loved the lakes the route takes you by and the scenery was beautiful-i will definitely return. Its a firm favourite

A great short afternoon walk. Varied woods and fields. Good dog walk.

Stunning location and views! More challenging in the wetter weather. But overall really enjoyable walk.

Lovely walk. Mix of open parkland, which is an SSSI so dogs must be on leads, and woodland. Few gently hilly bits. Some of the woodland paths are rutty and rooty so not good for buggies or wheelchairs.
