This is a lovely (but quite strenuous) walk in the hills and woodlands to the north and east of Danehill.

After a short section of walking along the road out of the village, you'll then embark on a hilly walk through woodlands, quiet lanes and countryside.

After a while, you'll reach Chelwood common, and then you'll loop back around and walk back towards the start point, passing a pub on the way back for some well earned refreshments.

Walker review

There were a LOT of hills. Most stiles had doggy access but large dogs would struggle. A few paths were overgrown and you do pass through a field with sheep.

Very nice walk but very muddy in parts do need wellies or good walking boots also hilly in places but good steps. Great pub on route.

This second route option is basically an extended version of the first walk for those of you with a bit more energy and time for your walk.

It enjoys the woodland tracks and countryside from the first route, but this option heads further to the east and climbs a bigger and more open hill that gives nice views and more fresh air on your walk.

As with the first route, there is a pub towards the end of the walk.

Very easy to park at the start. Paths were clearly signed and easy to negotiate. Some mud on the route. An enjoyable walk!
