These walks from Brewood offer a wonderful mix of canal-side wandering, peaceful open countryside and time to explore this charming market town.
Whether you choose a shorter pub walk, a scenic stretch along the Shropshire Union Canal, or the full combined route for a longer adventure, the walks provide plenty of variety and lovely views along the way.
There are a few short road sections to take care on, and you may prefer to walk anticlockwise for the prettiest flow, though heading the other way brings Brewood’s welcoming pubs and cafés towards the end of your outing.

This first route is a lovely varied pub walk that enjoys some peaceful open countryside, a stretch of walking alongside the pretty Shropshire Union canal and then has a loop that takes you into the pretty market town of Brewood where you'll find a lovely church and some nice pubs.

A good walk with a choice of pubs in tbe village.
Lovely walk! One field full of ewes and lambs, (April) so be ready for that if you have dogs. Sections were muddy, but that cant be helped with the recent weather. The Swan pub in Brewood has a lovely local atmosphere and is very welcoming! The balti scotch eggs need to be tried!! Dog friendly, Brewood is lovely, super-duper all-terrain pushchairs might manage, but the field would be a challenge…
Lovely walk, been saying for years i wanted to walk the canal at Brewood, the app works brilliantly
Some parts of the route are overgrown with nettles and brambles narrowing the path, not shorts on these parts but this is a small part at the beginning and end only

This second walk option heads in the opposite direction to the first route and if you head anticlockwise, it takes you across lovely open countryside until you reach the Shropshire Union Canal towpath.
You will then finish the walk with a long walk alongside the scenic towpath itself before a strolling along a short woodland path back to the start.
There is a very short section of walking along a busy road on the that part of the route to tackle, but there is a big verge to walk on safely.

The final route option is basically a combination of the first two routes put together to create a lovely long and varied walk that enjoys a long stretch of the wonderful canal, some peaceful open countyside and a visit to the market town of Brewood.
As with the other routes, there are some short road sections to navigate, so please be careful here.
We think the walk is prettier walked anticlockwise, but you can head clockwise if you want the market town visit, and it's refreshment options, towards the end of the walk.
