This walk is a rewarding circular adventure through the north-eastern reaches of Epping Forest, starting from Theydon Bois tube station.
This walk takes you beneath ancient trees, past the Iron Age earthworks of Ambresbury Banks and by the Deer Sanctuary, offering a memorable mix of history and woodland scenery.

The walk
This is a lovely long circular walk in the north east of the Epping Forest.
On this adventure, you'll enjoy the ancient trees of the Forest, the heritage of the iron age camp at Ambresbury Banks and the delights of the Deer Sanctuary.
The walk starts at the Theydon Bois tube station where there is also limited parking available. Based on City of London Corporation's waymarked trail.

First-hand experiences
Great autumnal walk through Epping Forest. Once again, using the Hertfordshire Walks App made it so much easier. Most of the smaller paths through the forest are not obvious since they’re covered with leaves. But it’s not a problem with the App as it guides you along the route. My suggestion though for parking is to use the Forest Side Car Park (also the start of the Ivy Chimneys walk). Only about a minute to join the Theydon Bois walk and much easier than trying to park at the Station Car Park. £4.50 for 4 hours.
