Whether you’re after a relaxed stroll with a pub garden stop, a family-friendly ramble among twisting trees, or a full woodland adventure following the Beech Trail and beyond, the walks offer shaded paths, gentle climbs and well-earned refreshments at the end.

This is a lovely short and relatively flat wheel-friendly woodland stroll around the High Beach section of the Epping Forest.
If you want to make it a lovely Pub Walk day out, there's also a wonderful pub on the route with a huge beer garden to enjoy.

This second route is an extended version of the first route that also offers the stroll around the impressive High Beach woods.
However, this route also takes you on an adventure down the hill for a ramble that the kids will really enjoy with lots of twisted trees to climb on before a gentle climb back up the hill to the lovely pub for some beer garden refreshments.
The more uneven ground and hills on this second route make it not suitable for wheels.

This third option is a longer adventure around the lovely woodlands of High Beach.
This route takes you down on the small fun loop of walking in front of the pub, but then takes you on a much longer loop of walking around the woodlands behind, exploring the official 'Beech Trail' curated by the Epping Forest Heritage Trust.

This final route option is an even longer adventure that explores even more of the beautiful Epping Forest woodland.
The extra distance will definitely work up an appetite for your post walk refreshments in the pub or cafe at the end, or at the steak house about 3/4 of the way around the route.
There are a few roads to cross on this route, so please be careful at these times.

First-hand experiences
Easy to follow route with great paths. The only comment I would make is that just after the beginning of the walk, you are near the road so quite noisy for about 25 mins. Would be great early on a Sat or Sun morning.
