Starting from Goldings Hill in Epping Forest, these walks wind through ancient woodland filled with character and charm.
From a shorter loop past Lost Pond and Bellringers Hollow to a longer forest adventure visiting several hidden ponds, the walks offer twisting paths, magnificent old trees and even the option of a well-earned pub stop nearby.

This first route is a short circular walk in the Epping Forest, across undulating and uneven ground with its winding route threading amongst the trees.
You'll enjoy some magnificent ancient trees on this walk, as well as a visit to the enchanting Lost Pond and Bellringers Hollow.

This second route is a much longer Epping Forest adventure, starting and ending at the Golding's Hill car park.
As well as exploring many of the beautiful paths in the forest, you'll visit a number of different ponds throughout the woods.
There is an option to nip out of the woods to get refreshments from a lovely pub, and you can walk around 1km from the Loughton Train station to get to this walk.

Gorgeous woodlands, some up hills that give you a work out but very rewarding.
An absolutely perfect walk through Epping Forest for the current heatwave as most of it is shaded by the tree canopy. The route is quite undulating but not too challenging. Also, when it is cooler, it’s hard to imagine a better walk for dogs with just a couple of small roads to cross. The walk passes a few nice ponds where you can take a break. We chose the one that was approx 2 1/2 miles in. Quite picturesque with a couple of benches. This is definitely one of our favourite walks on the Hertfordshire Walks App so far.
The first part of the walk was easy and clear of mud despite so much rain lately . The 2nd half wasnt so easy. Lots of climbs and very muddy/slippery
