Built from warm local limestone and set among rolling hills, Brassington is the starting point for these walks, offering everything from a gentle village wander to full-day upland adventures.

The shortest option is a relaxed stroll around the characterful lanes and traditional pubs of the village itself, while the longer of the walks head out into the surrounding hills along sections of the High Peak Trail and Pennine Bridleway.

Expect sweeping views, open countryside and plenty of climbing on the more strenuous routes, with one option even adding a rewarding detour to the top of Minninglow.

Whether you’re after a short pub walk or an epic leg-stretcher across exposed limestone hills, these walks around Brassington promise big skies and a satisfying sense of achievement.

This second route is a longer adventure in the hilly countryside surrounding the pretty village of Brassington.

You'll enjoy a long stretch of walking along the Midshires Way High Peak Trail on the route as well as plenty of peaceful open countryside with wonderful views as you work your way around this loop.

There is a fair amount of climbing to tackle as you walk around this undulating region, so you'll definitely work up an appetite for your return to the village where you have a choice of two nice country pubs.

Finally, there is a section of walking along a pretty fast road about half way around the route, so please be careful on this section of walking.

If you really want to stretch your legs and enjoy this wonderful area of countryside, then this third route is an epic and strenuous adventure for you to enjoy.

This walk covers a lot of the second route, but this option also heads a lot further along the Midshire Way onto the Pennine Bridleway before then looping back round past the Ballidon Quarry towards the village where you'll find two wonderful pubs for post-walk refreshments.

It's a long and hilly walk, that's exposed to the elements, so please go prepared with suitable clothing and refreshments for your journey.

As a little bonus for the super energetic, this fourth option is basically the same epic adventure that the third route offers you, but this option also has an extra loop that takes you to the top of Minninglow Hill.

There you will be rewarded for that extra bit of effort with some wonderful views before embarking on the rest of the route.
