This short countryside route explores the peaceful Common Marsh near Stockbridge, close to the Wiltshire/Hampshire border.

It’s a simple, refreshing stroll with a mix of riverside scenery and open ground, ideal for a quick leg-stretch in quiet surroundings.

A lovely doggy walk. With a special beach area as the river is mostly fenced off. Could easily walk into town for refreshments.
Stockbridge walk 02
This second route option is an epic countryside adventure around the village of Stockbridge, set in the heart of the Test Valley.
The route mixes open farmland with peaceful riverside stretches and a climb over Meon Hill, giving the walk a varied and spacious feel throughout.
It’s a proper leg-stretch through gorgeous scenery at times, with plenty of quiet corners where wildlife can sometimes be spotted along the water and in the surrounding fields.

First-hand experiences
Enjoyable level walking on clear paths. A few puddles but pretty dry. Not many viewpoints as mainly hedged tracks but lovely river stops and Stockbridge has plenty of cafes and pubs.
A lovely easy walk, beautiful alongside the river. One path towards the end was a little overgrown with brambles but we managed to get through without too much trouble.
