Rye Walks & Route Maps

This is an interesting walk around the gorgeous and historic town of Rye.

You'll first enjoy a stretch of walking along the pretty River Tillingham. After that, you'll head into town itself for a tour that takes you to various lovely viewpoints, a walk along trader's passage, a stroll through the pretty high streets and a visit the St Mary the Virgin church and Rye Castle.

There are lots of pubs, cafes and shops to enjoy on this route.

If you want a much longer adventure from Rye, then this second route option is a wonderful adventure that explores the countryside to the north of the town.

Heading clockwise, you'll embark on a long open walk though pretty countryside and farmed fields until you reach the village of Iden, where you'll find a pub for a half time pit stop.

After that, you'll head across through more fields until you reach the lovely River Rother. Then, you'll walk all the way back to Rye alongside this river and then finally enjoy a little tour around the town itself.
