Papercourt Lake

This is a nice circular waterside stroll in the countryside to the southeast of Woking.

You'll start with a long walk alongside the pretty River Wey Navigation before looping back around through some countryside until you reach the Papercourt Lake.

After a bit of lakeside walking, you'll then walk back along Newark Lane to the start, passing a lovely pub on the way for refreshments.

If you have some extra time then this second route option is basically an extension to the first route.

It still enjoys all the riverside and lakeside walking from the first route, but the extra distance heads much further along the River Wey and deep into the Broad Mead Wildlife Trust Reserve where you'll also come across the Old Woking Haa which was an old Anti Aircraft battery in World War II.

This final route option is basically an epic waterside adventure for those of you that really want to stretch your legs and explore this region to the southeast of Woking.

The route enjoys everything from the first and second routes, but you'll also head into the outskirts of Old Woking itself and venture off to the south from there through open fields and meadows until you pick up the River Wey and embark on a huge riverside walk back towards the lake and then the start.

There are three pubs on the route roughly equal distances apart on the route that offer you timely refreshments as you walk around this long route.
