Somerset Walks
Set on the eastern side of the Quantock Hills in Somerset, the walks around King’s Cliff Wood explore a mix of woodland, farmland, and rolling hills.
These walks include some steeper sections, with terrain that can feel uneven in places as you move through the valleys and wooded slopes.
The shorter walk focuses mainly on King’s Cliff Wood and nearby countryside, while the longer route extends further into Greys Wood and Rooks Castle Wood, also linking with part of the Macmillan Way West.

The second walk explores more of the woodland and a rugged stretch of the Quantocks with several very steep sections.
The route passes through King’s Cliff Wood, Greys Wood, and Rooks Castle Wood and these steep wooded valleys contrast with the open countryside, creating a route that feels varied and adventurous.
The walk also links with the Macmillan Way West which is a long-distance path running from Castle Cary to Barnstaple.
