The walk begins in the car park at the Barrow Wake viewpoint and before you have even started, you can enjoy the amazing views from one of the best viewing points on the Cotswold escarpment. On a clear day you can see the Malvern Hills and glimpses of Wales in the distance.

This strenuous walk heads along the escarpment, through some woods and down a steep track before looping back below the Barrow Wake viewpoint and climbing back up to the car park. If you stand at the Barrow Wake viewpoint and look to your right, you can see Leckhampton Hill and just over the ridge is Cheltenham.

From Barrow Wake car park, if you walk clockwise on the map you will reach the beautiful shaded woods. There is something magical about walking through woodland high up on a hill on a sunny day, looking down into a valley below.

Barrow Wake has many paths and tracks to explore and this one takes you from Barrow Wake down a steep descent towards Birdlip. However, when you get to the bottom, instead of carrying on to Birdlip, our walk route circles back around under the Barrow Wake viewpoint followed by a steep hike back up to the car park.
