Bures Walks & Route Maps

This is a wonderful short walk from the pretty village of Bures on the Essex/Suffolk border.

You'll first stroll through the village itself and visit the quaint St Mary church, before heading out into the hills to the east of the village.

The hills themselves are lovely, but the highlight of this adventure is when you come across the Chapel of St Stephen, where you'll enjoy a beautiful viewpoint of the Bures Dragon on the hillside.

If you have a little bit more time and energy for your adventure, this second route option is an extended version of the first walk.

Like the first walk you'll enjoy the pretty hills, chapel and viewpoint over the Bures Dragon.

This route however extends further out into the hills, offering you more lovely views, more walking and will build you more of an appetite for when you return to Bures for a well earned reward in one of the pubs or cafes.
