Chichester Walks

1. Chichester City walk
2 miles

This first walk is a lovely stroll around the beautiful cathedral city of Chichester. The walk will meander the streets with it's plentiful shopping and eateries as well as taking you on a wander around the city walls that were built in the 3rd century. This route also visits the majestic cathedral itself.

2. Chichester Channel walk
4.25 miles

This second walk is a nice and flat stroll around the beautiful Chichester Channel. You'll start the walk at the Chichester Marina which is great for boat enthusiasts to wander around, and then the route walks up the coastline of the Chichester Channel marina until it reaches a waterside pub for some refreshments. It then works it's way back on a quiet lane and along the Salterns Way.

3. Chidham village walk
2.5 miles and 5 miles

The third walk is a nice short family-friendly stroll in the countryside surrounding the village of Chidham, which is located about 6 miles from Chichester. The route takes you past Chidmere pond, through some open countryside, through the village where you'll visit a nice pub, and along a stretch of the Bosham Channel coastline.

We also have a longer route here which is 5 miles. the walk enjoys a big long sweeping coastal walk around the peninsular that is surrounded by the Chichester Channel, the Bosham Channel and the Thorney Channel. It also visits the village of Chidham itself where you'll find a nice pub for a pit stop.

4. St Roche's Hill
1.5 miles to 5.75 miles

This is a short walk to the top of The Trundle at the summit of St Roche's Hill, about 5 miles from Chichester. There is a pretty steep climb to get to the top, but the views of worth the effort!

There is also a second option which is a 4.5 mile pub walk adventure where you will enjoy a long and steady walk down hill towards the village of East Lavant. The route then passes a lovely pub in the village where you can top up your energies before walking the second half of the walk back up the hill.

The final option here is basically an amalgamated 5.75 mile figure of 8 walk that joins the first two routes together. You'll need lots of energy for this overall walk with it's plentiful climbing, so the pub in the village would be a great pitstop for refreshments.

5. Church Norton
1.5 miles and 4 miles

This final walk location is around the village of Church Norton, about 7 miles from Chichester. You'll visit the pretty church, the site of a Norman Castle called Church Norton Mount and enjoy a coastal stroll around a bird reserve.

The second route here is basically a much longer extension of the first walk that still visits the church and Normal mound, but also enjoys a much longer stretch of coastal walking around Pagham Harbour. There is a 500m section of busy road to walk on half way around this route, so please be careful here.
