Cricklade Walks & Route Maps

Does what it says on the tin! Lovely quaint town with very interesting history. Recommend it and will return and do the longer walk in due course. Recommend The Wild Fig Deli for food

We walked clockwise...the dog appreciated the water stops along the river!!Good sized beer garden at the Red Lion in Cricklade.Very enjoyable walk.

Car park was inaccessible at 7.30 but did find parking on a nearby street. A few areas on the route were difficult to locate but luckily lots of dog walkers out to ask

Be aware that the pub listed in Cerney Wick closed a long time ago. There are facilities in Cricklade or if you go off route theres a cafe at the Cotswold Centre and at one of the lakes, its out if the way. I’m local so know these places. One if my favourite walks when dry. The Thames floods do impassable jn wintertime.

Part of the walk takes you though a horse paddock, the field was churned into a mudfest, wellies definitely required under all but the dryest of conditions :)

Be aware there’s a lot of road walking at the beginning and end. Also the route is not always obvious, particularly through the livery/farm.

Nice and flat walk. Only one stile at the start that was a bit tricky but we did see a gate just up a bit that we could have went through. We had to turn round as the field was flooded and couldnt get through which was a shame. But dogs had a nice dip in the river. Only one field with cows in the rest were livestock free.

Very enjoyable walk however a lot of signs to say beware of bulls and enter at your own risk. I didnt see any luckily but it did worry me as I was walking around!

Absolutely lovely walk.

Lots of cattle and horses around the route that we were not expecting.

I took a slightly different route over a field to the old railwayline to make this route circular as the field by the Thames path is still extremely flooded. I look forward to doing this properly in the dry.

We followed the river at cerney wick and went to the cafe at lake 6. Very nice, then we diverted back to pick up route

There is now only one slightly boggy point which was easy to get around. Rest of walk completely dry and great countryside.

Absolute mudfest! But pleasant all the same.

Great walk on good clear paths and very flat.

Really nice walk across fields and an old railway. Pub halfway round however temporarily closed.
