The walk
Little Oakley Walk
This Little Oakley route explores some of the gorgeous coastal edges of Essex, with open skies, tidal creeks, and a real sense of space throughout.
The Essex Way threads through the landscape, leading towards the shifting channels of South Hall Creek and the wider expanse of Hamford Water.
The nature reserve then brings a quieter, wilder feel, with mudflats and saltmarsh shaped by the tide and birdlife that can sometimes be spotted across the estuary.
There is also a short stretch along a fast road without a footpath, so please take care on this section.
Finally, a local pub at the end offers a rewarding finish to this varied coastal route.
