Little Burstead Walk & Route Map

A great Sunday afternoon walk through small wooded areas, open fields and pretty views.

We really enjoyed this walk . We went 28/08/26 so very dry , can imagine after a wet spell some parts would be muddy. Great countryside veiws . The pretty church worth a look . Parking was very good free off the road car park . Pub looked nice, we didn’t go in .

There are a few stretches after St Mary’s church which go straight across fields. The path there was not maintained at all and we were basically trudging up to our ankles across ploughed earth. Even the views didn’t really make up for it - bit miserable. So that part was hard going - but the rest was delightful.

A great walk. We completed it after the fields were just tilled and rained on so not ideal across the fields. We did see a Red Kite.

Didn’t see a soul, lovely open space, perfect for an dry, autumn stroll.

Really nice walk across generally fields. Both dogs enjoyed it. Some paths not clear but that was because the fields had just been ploughed!! Definitely will do again

Last day of march 2025. Absolutely beautiful day, warm and sunny. Ground was dry so easy walking. A couple of hills but nothing too much. Had to put the dogs on lead a few times as there was some (quiet) road walking but we loved the walk. Lunch at the Dukes Head was amazing!

Excellent route some waymark have been removed or fallen down so route on app very useful.

The countryside part of this walk unfortunately wasn't enjoyable as the farmland had been turned over and this made for difficult walking for us and our dogs. This was quite a large part of the walk and not one we would look to complete again due to this. We will venture onto other walks on this App. Thank you.
